Due to some unforseen circumstances, my book review for Matthew Peters and Elisa Stanford's new book: Me, Myself, and I Am - comes a bit later than I had hoped. My apologies to all for that! This Multnomah
book was easy to read because it functions quite a bit as a workbook.
The red seal on the front cover mentions that this great book is a
question and answer book. In fact, what is fun about this read is that
for the most part - YOU get to co-author this book. Me, Myself, and I Am is
a book that will help you journal and put into words where you are at
in your walk with Christ, and it will actually become a tool for you as
well that will allow you to look back and see where you have already
been in your faith journey. Multiple questions will help you to reflect
where you have been in your walk, and just how far along the Lord has
brought you. Other questions will cause you to think futuristically
about where you would like God to take you. Questions range from the spiritually intruiguing such as
- you overhear God talking about you. What do you hear him saying? To
thought provoking questions like - You are on a long car trip with a
close friend who is not a Christian and the conversation turns to your
faith. What is your biggest fear about what your friend will ask or
say? There are even questions that are challenging like - Do you believe that all
of Jesus's followers have a responsibility to tell others about him?
And even just fun things to think about like - if your life before you
became a Christian were a movie, what would be the title: Animal House,
As Good as It Gets, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, or It's a Wonderful
Life. This
book is incredible for people who would like to journal - but don't
know where to start. As an avid reader/reviewer this book was
refreshing to get, and unique in it's approach while in my opinion at
the same time it is a very effective tool. If you would like to purchase your copy,
you can do so at a number of bookstores or by simply visiting
Amazon.com.
